Apuseni mountains
The Apuseni mountains represent one of the special tourist destinations of Romania. The karstic physical geography, but also the specific flora and fauna are as many reasons for which the area was declared natural reservation. The inhabitants of the Apuseni mountains are famous for the wooden domestic objects that they manufacture since several generations on and sell everywhere in Romania.
The wooden baskets made by the artisans from the region of the Apuseni mountains can be bought from almost all the fairs from the country. If you want to discover the local life and the traditions of the places, one of the ideal areas to start with is the Valley of Aries.
