Bucovina
Situated in the north-eastern part of Romania, Bucovina is a small part of the northern region of Moldavia.
The scenery is varied, with mountains and hills, with lively coloured houses; since ever, the people of these places knew how to keep their traditions and customs.
The most representative moments of the Medieval Moldavia are concentrated in Bucovina. We refer to the painted monasteries which constitute a “code”, a specific language, a language of images. The paintings on the walls, performed by unknown artists, kept their splendour till now.
Some of these churches and monasteries belong to the UNESCO patrimony.
